Introducing the Upgraded PlayStation App

Sony’s PlayStation App has received a significant update, Version 21.4, which brings a host of new features to enhance the gaming experience for PS5 users. One of the standout features allows gamers to manage their PS5 storage remotely, granting them the ability to delete files and games without having to physically interact with the console.

Last year, Sony revamped the PlayStation App with the impending release of the PS5, promising additional functionalities to be unveiled later. With the rollout of PlayStation App Version 21.4, these new features are starting to make their way to users.

Remote Storage Management:

Remote storage management is undoubtedly a game-changer, streamlining the process of cleaning up your PS5 storage without having to power up the console completely. Gamers will need to ensure their PS5 is in rest mode, as opposed to being powered off, in order to utilize this functionality. Upon instructing the app to delete games, the console will temporarily power on, carry out the operation, and then return to rest mode.

For those who may not immediately see the storage management option in their app settings despite updating to Version 21.4, a simple re-linking of the PS5 to the app may do the trick, as reported by some users on Reddit.

Exciting Additions: Join Multiplayer Sessions and Compare Trophies

The update also brings other handy features, adding more convenience to the gaming experience. PlayStation App users can now sort and filter the PS Store to easily find what they are looking for, enhancing their browsing experience. Additionally, gamers can compare trophies with their friends and even join multiplayer sessions on the PS5 directly from game invites.

Another useful addition to the app is the ability to share images, text, and URLs from other applications with friends on PS App. This feature promotes better communication and social interactions among gamers.

Furthermore, Sony has addressed certain performance issues and included general fixes, aiming to provide users with a smoother and more reliable app experience.

Enhance Your Experience: Navigating the In-App PlayStation Store

However, while the update has brought search and sort filters to the in-app PlayStation Store, it’s worth noting that the ability to search through your personal game library is still missing. PlayStation Plus subscribers, in particular, may find navigating their extensive libraries a bit tedious.

PlayStation App Version 21.4.0 is currently being rolled out on the Play Store, but users can also opt to download it from APK Mirror.

With Sony continuously improving the PlayStation App and delivering new features, it’s evident that the company is committed to enhancing the gaming experience for its users. As technology and gaming culture evolve, we can expect even more exciting updates and improvements to keep PlayStation enthusiasts engaged and entertained.
