The Virginia Scenic Railway is a captivating rail journey through some of the most stunning landscapes in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The railway travels along the ridges and valleys of the Appalachian Mountains, through forests, open fields, and rolling countryside.

There are several different train types you can choose from to experience the scenic route: the Heritage Train, which runs on original equipment and features many historic artifacts; the雷達列車 (LTD), which uses restored steam locomotives; or the 散步電車 (Stroll Train), which allows you to take it easy as you stroll through the beautiful countryside.

Tickets & Prices

Tickets for the Virginia Scenic Railway vary depending on how many stops you make along your journey. The Heritage Train offers tickets starting at $29 per person for a one-way ticket, while tickets for an LTD train range from $39 to $54 per person depending on how far you want to travel. Tickets for the Stroll Train start at $14 per person. All prices include admission to all attractions along your route.

The Best Views from the Train

The Virginia Scenic Railway is a 48-mile circuit that runs through the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. The scenery is simply stunning, with rolling hills and valleys, deep forests, and sparkling streams. The train travels at a leisurely pace, giving passengers plenty of time to take in the views.

The first two stops on the route are at Walker’s Grove and Clingmans Dome. Both stations offer great views of the surrounding countryside, as well as outstanding vantage points for viewing nearby Mount Mitchell and Great Smoky Mountains.
